Background of the Study
Political networks in Nigeria play a crucial role in the allocation of resources, shaping the political and economic landscape at both local and national levels. In Birnin Kebbi, the state capital of Kebbi State, political networks—often built on relationships of patronage, loyalty, and influence—determine the distribution of public resources. These networks can either facilitate equitable resource allocation or concentrate resources in the hands of political elites, to the detriment of the broader population (Ali & Ibrahim, 2023).
